A fantastic deal for this scorching summer.
As you know, cotton is for the masses;
if you look at ultra-luxurious fashion brands, cotton is rarely used.
They usually opt for various types of silk.
The reason is that silk can be soft yet firm,
warm yet cool,
supple yet structured—
basically, silk can be spun into all kinds of constructions,
effectively bridging the best qualities of every season.
So, instead of plain old cotton, we use silk.
Plus, silk is faaaar more comfortable to wear than cotton.
So, here is one of those very special, summer-specific silk yarns:
pure silk spun into a wonderful bouclé style.
Why bouclé? Because it performs better in these super-hot temperatures;
it doesn't cling completely to the body, leaving space here and there for evaporation and airflow.
This bouclé is also trouble-free when knitting;
the structure is designed so that you won't accidentally pierce the loop.
The bouclé has a fairly dense structure around the core of the yarn,
so there are no large gaps in the yarn itself that could cause knitting issues.
For practical reasons, I recommend using this exclusively for stockinette stitch (jersey);
cable or lace patterns in bouclé do NOT yield good results,
and that would simply be a waste of your hard work.
So, stockinette stitch, please—you’ll thank me later.
But for those determined to persist in their folly...

TEST SPiNSELS
100 kilos on larger cones—meaning larger volumes—of super-special silks.
Most of these are test spinnings from the process of calibrating,
fine-tuning, and precisely adjusting the spinning machines.
A large portion consists of single-origin and single-type silks.
A smaller portion consists of blends created for highly technical reasons.
To give you a quick example, the stock includes:
100% *Bombyx mori* (the absolute pinnacle of silk);
100% Tussah, ranging from mulberry-fed origins to other varieties.
(What many people don't know is that Tussah caterpillars
actually prefer eating mulberry leaves,
but they are one of the few species that can be fed
an endless variety of plant materials.
Naturally, this has consequences, as they are 100% pure, macrobiotic creatures;
what you feed them is ultimately reflected in the silk you get back,
so feeding them too much 'junk' results in 'junk' silk.)
Most are fed either mulberry or an oak-leaf-based diet.
Because the oak-leaf diet is much higher in tannins,
the resulting silk has a completely different structure
compared to silk from mulberry-fed caterpillars;
it feels drier to the touch.

linnen was for 90% used into homefurnishings curtains seats etc

You can do almost anything with this—weaving, knitting, crocheting, etc.
For knitting, it is particularly interesting to combine it with other wool yarns;
this gives the wool a more rigid structure
and also provides a cooling effect.
You have to experiment a bit to see what kind of final effect you want.
If you knit it using multiple strands, you get a really nice knitted fabric.
Do keep in mind that this batiste is a single-ply yarn, so it can have a tendency to skew (bias);
but personally, I find that acceptable with linen.
The stitch you use is, of course, also a major factor.
