100% pure Brazillian tussah silk made in a 100% pur silk thread

al of it is pure silk

mostly chenille is the core thread an other type of thread

this is done motly out oy lazyness towards structural cohesian

but if you know what you are doing

you can make it 100% in pure silk and it will work perfectly aswell

the reason we took a tussah has to do with thte fact of that structural cohesian of th efinal result

tussah is a lot less slipery then bombyx morus silk

and so the cut fibers stay very nicely in place in the chenille structure

and tussah can be spun in a way that it coils on itself

this coiling on itself is needed for keeping the chenille structure intact

i often have the question form students

why is this used in textiles?

well chenille is a way of making a "fake velours" effect

or as some in anglish say a corduroy effect

it works easy and faster then traditional velours

and in knititng aswell as weaving you can do wunderous constructions

wuper easy to color....
