you do a type of arrachi shibori on it for pleating and folding so certain areas will not boill off

and then you boill it in a large water volume and soda chrystals to soften the original raw silk

you will loose +-30% of the orignal weight of th eraw silk

but it will change ot a wonderous gigh glossy briljant boilled of silk

this wil contrast very nice towards the not boilled of parts

it is pure fun and pure marvelous silk

if you do not weave.... well no worry

you can do this thechnique aslo in knitted textiles

just knit it raw

and then do your crasy binding of before boilling

you cannever ever go wrong with it
